Reflection Paper

Introduction

These competencies are rooted in the standard that guides my choices, absolute values, principles and divine basis, which will contribute to my development in each area of my life: personal, academic, and professional. Although there are numerous ways to understand subjects like God, our purpose in the world, what happens after we die, etc., there are a few basic patterns of answers to these questions and others. Each set of answers forms a conceptual grid, called worldview (from the German word Weltanschauung). The worldview influences my behavior, my decisions, my values, my judgments and my perceptions. My leadership style is based on my Western Christian worldview and particularly on my Adventist worldview. I achieved the Philosophical Foundation level, organizing my material to demonstrate my learning and understanding about this competency through research and field experience. In the spring of 2016, I took Lead 756 Philosophical Foundations, which helped me to research more about different worldviews and write about it. And in the Spring of 2017, I took 636 Issues in Leadership Foundations, which gave me good resources and practice, reflection and artifacts. This competency is focused on absolute values, principles and divine basis, which will contribute to my development in each area of my life: personal, academic and professional. This competency will significantly help me since leadership stimulates my knowledge of core learning values, concepts and implied perceptions as well as their authors. It promotes my commitment to learning in a variety of ways, which embrace my personal, academic, and professional growth, interaction with diversity, and above all, develop myself first, then others.
